OUR HISTORY

 

The Worship Center (TWC) began with a Tuesday night prayer meeting in May 2012 after prayerful consideration by Bishop Lindsey and a team of young saints from the Mother church, New Calvary Temple COGIC. Originally, God gave Bishop Lindsey the vision of a Leadership Institute to help train, develop and mentor young leaders.  Upon completion of the building, God redirected Bishop’s vision to begin a youth and young adult ministry.

 

This ministry is to be an example for young leaders to pattern themselves after and become a rescue mission center for their communities.  Hence, TWC was formed with a group of young ministers and missionaries from the Mother church and began mission work as “one church in two locations”.  Our leader tirelessly worked as the Pastor for both churches, as a team of leaders supported the work at TWC.

 

In December 2013, he officially retired from the Mother church to focus solely on the work at TWC.  Our endeavor is to follow the vision and mission of TWC and participate in our national church’s Urban Initiative Ministry as a way to enhance growth.  We are a ministry that is homogenously grouped by geographical locations, gender, age, ministerial calls, and service capacities. Our future looks bright and our cause is righteous, as we continue to strive to be “A Friendly Church with a Personal Touch”!
